Visual feed: The best drone photography of 2015

Things look better from a birds'-eye view

Forget a selfie stick, drone photography is where it’s at right now. So much so that it’s now becoming one of the best (and, at times, only) ways to capture large landscapes and scenes completely. Dronestagram, in conjunction with National Geographic, have announced the winners of this year’s drone aerial photography contest and they’re expectedly impressive.

This year’s comp saw over 5000 entries submitted across four categories, with efforts from professional and amateur photographers all over the world. The finalists were chosen by a panel of experts, which included National Geographic France editor-in-chief Jean-Pierre Vrignaud and award-winning photographer Ken Geiger.

So if you copped that drone for Christmas, we’d strongly suggest brushing up on your picture-taking. Check out the winners, and a few of our favourites, above. See more from the 2015 Drone Aerial Photography Contest here.
